Felix Kubin & Marie Losier  will be residing at les ateliers claus in the second half of August. Marie has been making a film portrait on and with Felix for now 3 years and both Marie and Felix will show a few images from the making of the portrait and many other surprises made with love at Atelier Claus!. Felix Kubin will sing a cantate for the 9th ball at the Atomium, chant about the orange highway lights, trill about the fries, quaver around the beers and croon about Manneken Pis. 

Marie will show a few of films on musicians mainly (Tony Conrad, Genesis P-Orridge, Alan Vega and Felix Kubin) and she allows us to see a sneak preview of the Film portrait she has been making about Felix's process of creation, dreams and musical whimsicality and inventions. 

Marie Losier born in France, is a filmmaker and curator who’s worked in New York City for 22 years. She has shown her films and videos at museums, galleries, biennials and festivals. She has made a number of film portraits on avant-garde directors, musicians and composers, such as George Kuchar, Guy Maddin, Richard Foreman, Tony Conrad, Genesis P-Orridge, Alan Vega and Felix Kubin.  Whimsical, poetic, dreamlike and unconventional, her films explore the life and work of these artists.  She is currently on residency in Paris in post-production for her new feature on Cassandro, The Exotico as well as working on a new portrait of German musicien/composer Felix Kubin- Felix Kubin, The Man With The German Haircut.  She is also preparing a retrospective of all of her films for MoMA, Museum of Modern Art of New York City, which will open in June 2018. 

‘Unterführungskünstler’ and ‘marriage impostor artist’ Felix Kubin composes electronic music since his early teens. Apart from that, he makes radio plays, videos, animation- and short films and is the founder of the label Gagarin. Kubin came to play in a circus tent at the tenth anniversary of les ateliers claus in 2016. One year later, he returns to Brussels for an eleven day residency and a concert on the 29th of August.
