against everything by micha goldberg & rosie sommers & simon van schuylenbergh + ziga ipavec

against everything is learned, original, highly entertaining, and, from start to finish, dead serious, reinventing and reinvigorating what intellectuals can be and say and do. key topics are the tyranny of exercise, the folly of food snobbery, the sexualization of childhood (and everything else), the philosophical meaning of pop music, the rise and fall of the hipster, the uses of reality tv, the impact of protest movements, and the crisis of policing. four of the selections address, directly and unironically, the meaning of life—how to find a philosophical stance to adopt toward one's self and the world.

micha goldberg is a brussels based theater maker that have embedded himself in the landscape of amateurism and post high art. he search for poetry in low pixeld images and drama. he is currently working on een beetje kunst, dark habits, clownscape like in landscape, drama – at the museum. and he is deeply engaged in micha´s amateur theater group (for professionals).

rosie sommers, a graduate of kask, worked until 2022 in volksroom, an off-space for performance art (anderlecht, brussels). she participated in nightshft at the taz festival in the summer of 2022 in oostende, where she worked with micha goldberg on the production german staatstheater (premiering in february 2024) and on her solo show, the naked traveller. In 2023, she created tantra for beginners, followed in 2024 by working with nathan ooms and anna franziska jäger for the theatre production modesta in collaboration with campo.

simon van schuylenbergh is a belgian performance artist living and working in brussels. he is the founder of the performance platform ne mosquito pas. currently he is running a cabaret in the center called anal pompidou and a group performance called dark habits . as a performer he is working for sophia rodriguez (friction), rosie sommers & micha goldberg (german staatstheater), benjamin abel meirhaeghe (a revue, give up old ghosts!).

ziga ipavec

tolkalska is an artistic polygon of percussionist and drummer ziga ipavec, where sound transcends its physical form and becomes a field of exploration. the project moves at the intersection of the abstract and the rhythmic, between melody and silence, between spiritual reflection and humor, which together act as a counterpoint—a tension and balance that create a new harmony.

it is a return to the organic nature of sound, to the spirituality of rhythm, a radical gesture in the face of a digitalized age – where rhythm is dictated by the heartbeat.
at the same time, tolkalska is a project that non of the mentioned above matters and in which space and audience are not passive, but essential elements that shape the performer's improvisation.
