blurt (uk)

blurt is ted milton, poet, saxophonist and puppeteer. his band blurt has been around since the late 1970s. characteristic of the group's sound are the repetitive sax and guitar parts and tight drums over milton's existential lyrics. best-known song is the cult classic 'the fish needs a bike'. live, milton goes wild like a 'madman' with furious outbursts on his sax and hefty vocal cries. once signed to the factory label, this band was the darling of john peel. they count as 1 of the figureheads of the no wave scene: raw, uncompromising, unpredictable and never fully understood. the fact that milton has a serious quirk in his head must have something to do with that, right?

ted milton still at his best!

zad kokar (Strasbourg)

microminiature pop. lo-fi abductee. half-venue emptier. farfetched now-wave. spotify boycotter. goofy colorfool noise. abstract difformed songs. asymmetrical randomer.

comic-strip artist and weirdo musician zad kokar lives in strasbourg, france. since 2015, he has developed (either solo or with les combi beyaz) a cathartic mix of no-wave dissonances, devo-esque minimalism, early hip-hop beats, and residentesque strangess. his live shows are defined by their high energy, loud, danceable, and uplifting vibe.
