hiele feat. secret guest present 'emo inhaler'
brussels-based musician and composer hiele premieres his new stroom album emo inhaler. the record condenses compositions born from improvisatory explorations and electro-acoustic experimentation. recorded and concluded across various studios and train coupés, emo inhaler is expansive, yet tightly woven, creating a singular sonic identity that explores hiele's own world of musical off-key vignettes, balancing between light and sinister. with emo inhaler,
hiele reaffirms his place as one of belgium's most adventurous and distinctive contemporary voices. for this concert, he is joined by a secret guest."
Lukas de clerck
lukas de clerck is a brussels-based musician and researcher whose work revolves around the aulos,
an ancient double-reeded pipe extinct for over a millennium. after years of experimenting with reed making and replicas, he developed the telescopic aulos of atlas, a contemporary version that allows him to explore microtonality, psychoacoustics, and sound texture. approaching the instrument with playful curiosity and a transformative mindset,
de clerck reimagines rather than conserves, positioning himself as a unique voice in the aulos' revival across disciplines.
daisy ray
femke fredrix performs on stage as daisy ray. in her musical universe of sound, text and performance, she brings together club culture, storytelling and nursery rhymes. to daisy, being together through and with music is a way to share, care and love, to fight, to break free and to reinvent ourselves. after three years of spontaneous diy online releases, daisy is now releasing an album on the athens label heat crimes.
r.d.p.t.v.
ominous ensemble. the one carries folk-dance, the other devastation. the one fixes broken flowerstems with ducttape, the way the music sounds. the other thinks about the music they heard on the bridge last night.
words by ferre marnef, smells by michelle woods
michelle woods introduces olfactory elements into the space. rice cookers operate. something simmers. the air changes. small interventions occur throughout the evening. some sharp, some savoury, some that might sting.
michelle woods is a cook and artist living in brussels who works with and is interested in the relationship between performance and hospitality. she moved to antwerp in 2007 to attend the fashion department of the royal academy of fine art.
consequently joining forces with her fashion fellows to form the group lvmm. a memorable work they created together was an imitation brown cafe called de vuilen hond, whilst on residency at scheld'apen, (now het bos).
after spending some years back in london training as a pastry chef at michelin-starred restaurant st.john, she returned to antwerp to give birth to table dance in 2018, (with roman hiele)! table dance made a name as providers of fine food, drinks, and entertainment, existing far from conventional standards through a hybrid mix of cuisine, music, performance, and scenography. table dance worked closely with artist residency morpho and was in residence at muhkafe.
ferre marnef is the search-singing front of the post punk band sergeant where his background as an actor finds peace with grand emotions. on the release night he will use words and fluids to celebrate his friend hiele while searching for the right cocktail.
