homas lehn - occam VI for ems synthesizer (2012), composition by eliane radigue – solo performance

since the early 1980s thomas lehn has been working as a creator and performer of contemporary music, while developing one of the most innovative musical idioms in the field of electroacoustic music, encompassing improvisation and composition. after completing his academic training as a sound engineer and pianist at the detmold and cologne music schools, his piano playing in chamber music and jazz gradually turned towards the interpretation of contemporary music and improvisation. in parallel with this rich activity he adapted the use ems synthi a to his own personal and spontaneous style as a soloist and as a member of numerous ensembles, but also as an interpreter of several electronic works by composers such as éliane radigue, bogusław schaeffer, zbigniew karkowski, anthony pateras, peter jakober and jürg frey. international festival appearances and concert tours have taken him throughout the world. his work is documented on around 120 recordings.

singularity ai & aek

singularity ai is one of the monikers of raul borges cerqueira, also known as dj lovepills and a member of acid mercenaries (activities records). a fixture of brussels' underground nightlife and a linchpin of the free-party scene in belgium for the past 20 years, raul borges takes a radical and spontaneous approach to techno, acid house, dub, and psychedelic music in the broadest sense. a tireless digger of second-hand bins and an indefatigable archivist of resistant and marginal electronic music, he channels a wide range of influences into his solo project—uniquely mixing them to produce a sound that is both effective and reflective, balancing on the tightrope between continuous rhythmicity and the fluidity of accident.

singularity ai will be joined by aek—a multidisciplinary queer artist, poet, singer, and performer. aek has been writing and performing original songs since childhood and has participated in numerous musical theatre and choir projects, notably with black widows in brussels. since 2012, nora and raul have shared a long-standing collaboration that blends electronics with semi-hypnotic vocals, crafting dark, dreamlike landscapes and reverberant environments.
